Involuntary Manslaughter Sentence Affirmed

In US v. Lone Fight, No. 09-3573, the court affirmed Defendant's sentence for involuntary manslaughter committed in Indian country, holding that the sentence was not substantively unreasonable because defendant's criminal history stretched over thirty years, and many of his dozens of prior offenses were alcohol-related.

As the court wrote: "Randolph Lone Fight was convicted of three counts of involuntary manslaughter. The district court sentenced Lone Fight to a total term of 231 months' imprisonment, and Lone Fight appeals. Lone Fight contends that the district court erred by ordering that the sentences for the three counts of conviction should run consecutively. We affirm."
