Texas Mom Sent Nude Photos to Teenage Boy

A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after allegedly sexting with a 16-year-old boy.

Lori Darling David stands accused of two counts of online solicitation of a minor. David allegedly sent sexually lewd, explicit text messages, pictures of her and emails to the boy, who was the son of a friend of hers. In other words, it's yet another sexting case. David was active at Katy Taylor High School as a volunteer, though one might question her motives in light of her arrest. She is still in jail, being held on $20,000 bail. Investigators are looking into whether there might be additional victims involved.

The accusations are serious. David could face up to 20 years in prison and be forced to register as a sex offender. Although if past cases are any guide, David is likely to plead guilty and receive a far lighter sentence, potentially with no prison time at all. Prosecutors maintain that the case is no different than if the situation was reversed and an older man and a young girl were involved. They say the law doesn't make exceptions for if the teenage boy was a willingly participant. That's because he is not old enough to legally consent, making his actual consent irrelevant in the eyes of the law.

According to court documents, "She had met the boy; He's a child of a friend of hers -- a jogging partner," said Eric Devlin, Harris County Assistant District Attorney. Eventually, David and the boy became Facebook friends at which time their conversations became increasingly sexually charged. After the messages were discovered, David confessed to sending the pictures.

Neighbors expressed surprise: "Unless I saw it for myself, I wouldn't believe it. She might not be the first one to say hi how are you doing? But she'll stay there and talk to you nicely," said neighbor Tom Hopkins, ABC reports.

As we've previously said, sexting with underage students is a serious mistake. If convicted, the risk of prison time and being placed on the sex offender registry make it extremely difficult to find reliable work and get your life back on track.
