Roger Stone Charged in Florida Federal Court

President Donald Trump's advisor and longtime friend, Roger Stone, has been arrested and charged in connection with the Mueller probe in the Florida Federal District Court.

According to reports, the arrest stems from Stone allegedly lying to Mueller's investigators. Stone maintains that he has done nothing wrong, did not lie, and has vowed to plead not guilty at his arraignment in federal court in D.C. next week.

Stone on the Block

Roger Stone was arrested this morning in his home by FBI with a SWAT team. After the arrest, his home was searched while he was taken into FBI custody. That same morning, he was charged and released on $250,000 bail, then gave a short press conference on the courthouse steps. The scene outside the courthouse was rather hectic, with both reporters and protestors crowding around Stone as he spoke into several microphones that were set up waiting for him to emerge.

During the press conference, while the crowd booed and heckled him, chanting "lock him up," he stated that he would not testify against the president, clarifying that he would testify, but that his testimony would not be harmful. He also asserted that he is being falsely accused of making false statements to the Mueller team. Notably, Stone admitted that he had not read the indictment yet. While comparing the way he was arrested to terrorist activity, he also commented that the individual FBI agents were "courteous."
