Robin Thicke Crashes his Porsche into a Parked Car

Robin Thicke crashes his very expensive looking Porsche into a parked car... then gets a ride home from cops. Talk about star treatment.

A look at Thicke's mangled Porsche and you would think someone was seriously injured. Fortunately for Thicke, he was not hurt and there was nobody inside the parked Volkswagen that he hit.

Thicke stayed at the scene of the accident and gave police a statement. He said that a car cut him off as he pulled onto Sunset Boulevard. When he swerved to avoid that car, he ended up crashing into the parked car, reports Monsters and Critics.

Robin Thicke's car was mangled and he had no choice but to stay at the scene. But one would like to believe that even had Thicke had the ability to drive off, he would have stuck around and talked to police (or the owner of the parked car).

Not surprisingly, the majority of hit-and-run accidents involve parked cars. If the damage is light, usually a driver will just drive off. However, that is not the right thing to do. Instead, you should:

  • Try to locate the owner of the car. If no one is around, leave a legible note.
  • Take down information related to the accident as well as the make and model of the car you hit.
  • Notify the authorities.
  • Notify your auto insurance company.

Keep in mind that this is just a general guide. Use your judgment. The police won't want a call if you simply scratched someone's bumper. Though at the very least, you should always leave a note.

Robin Thicke crashing his car serves as a good reminder on what to do after hitting a parked car. If a celebrity can do the right thing, so can you.
