Rihanna Sues Over Her $6.9M Flooded Beverly Hills Mansion

Rihanna's house is worth $6.9 million - or is it? A "moderate rainstorm" left Rihanna's home flooded as a result of undisclosed structural defects, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The pop-R&B singer is suing Prudential California Realty, LaRocca Inspection Associates, Landmark Design Group, and the former owners of the Beverly Hills mansion, alleging negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of implied warranty, and breach of contract.

Rihanna claims she would have never paid $6.9 million if she had known about the potential for flooding.

The entirety of Rihanna's house lawsuit is based on the premise that the defendants failed to disclose construction defects and investigate their existence, leading to significant damage and a high purchase price.

The allegations go something like this:

  1. Rihanna requested information about draining and water issues, and was told there were none.
  2. LaRocca inspected the home and provided the owners with a list of repairs.
  3. The owners told Rihanna that one was unnecessary because of the home's construction.
  4. LaRocca re-inspected the home, and using this information, found the house "serviceable."
  5. Prudential realtors did not further research or readjust the home price in consideration of known defects.
  6. Rihanna's home flooded, therefore costing her too much money.

Lest you think this lawsuit is a snotty ploy for money, keep in mind that, just like commoners, Rihanna is entitled to full disclosures and due diligence when it comes to purchasing a home.

It's fraudulent not to disclose known defects and to make statements about one's home that are untrue. It's also negligent for an inspector to take a homeowner at his word.

Rihanna's home lawsuit is no joke.
