Plea Agreement for Charlie Sheen Calls for Theater Internship
A plea agreement for Charlie Sheen calls for the star of CBS's "Two and a Half Men," to participate in a theater internship and for him to teach acting classes.
Actor Charlie Sheen entered a guilty plea to charges stemming from a Christmas Day domestic dispute in Aspen, Colorado with his wife Brooke Mueller, CNN reports.
Under the plea agreement, Sheen would serve a 30-day jail sentence and serve three months probation. He would also intern at a community theater during the day as part of a work release program and then spend his nights as a jail inmate.
This summer the theater is reportedly planning to do a production of "The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs!"
According to Paige Price, the theater's artistic director, no specific duties have been outlined for Sheen's theater internship. Sheen started his acting career in 1974 and he will be expected to use his skills, Price said.
As previously discussed, Sheen and his wife had been in settlement talks.
The couple wanted to patch things up after the altercation in Colorado on Christmas that led Brooke to claim that Sheen put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her, as previously discussed.
Since the incident Sheen went to rehab as a "preventative measure."
His wife, Brook Mueller also has been in a rehab center and as of late, out-patient rehab, while living at home with the couple's twin boys.
Originally, Charlie Sheen pleaded not guilty to one felony and two misdemeanors. He entered the not guilty plea on charges of menacing, criminal mischief and assault.
The star of CBS's "Two and a Half Men," was arrested on Christmas Day and released after posting $8,500 bond.
Of the charges, the class-five felony menacing count against Sheen carries the most weight and the deal reached involves dropping that charge. Sheen could have spent up to three years in jail if convicted on all of the original charges.
