Paris Hilton has never been one to shy away from the spotlight. According to a lawsuit filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the Paris Hilton sex tape refuses to fade away either. It has now been 7 years since "One Night in Paris" debuted, but it continues to get around on the internet. Like an endless record.

Not that many people are paying for it.

They're illegally downloading the video on the cyber-porn black market, TMZ reports. And that doesn't sit well with the owners of the tape, Jim Salomon and XPays Inc. Salomon is the brother of sex tape co-star Rick Salomon.

The hotel heiress shot to super stardom thanks in part to the Paris Hilton sex tape. On the one hand she claimed to be devastated by its release. On the other hand, she certainly didn't seem to mind the attention. She is credited with launching a new age of celebrities who became famous after releasing sex tapes, such as Kim Kardashian.

XPays Inc. sued 843 "John Does" for illegally downloading the sex tape on the internet. John Does are named in lawsuits when the plaintiff expects to learn their identities later in the discovery process. The lawsuit relates specifically to the time between 2010 and 2011.

You might wonder what such a lawsuit for copyright infringement might be worth. That's difficult to estimate, but the Paris Hilton sex tape was a best seller. In its first year, Hilton's former boyfriend, who originally held the copyright, earned $10 million, TMZ reports. Hilton made a sizable amount from the tape as well.
