NY Attorney Sues Ex-Girlfriends Over Liarscheatersrus.com Posts

For many people, doing a basic Google search on your prospective attorney is something that has become almost second-nature. But, if you're Manhattan attorney Matthew Couloute Jr., a Google search of your name doesn't exactly point prospective clients to your State Bar profile.

Instead, it points prospective clients to a character-slamming page on Liarscheatersrus.com, where jilted lovers and ex-lovers congregate to bash on their former flames.

Apparently, two of Couloute's former exes took to the web to unite forces against the attorney, calling him "scum," amongst other insults. Couloute has now filed a federal lawsuit against the two women, Stacey Blitsch (a former roller-derby queen) and Amanda Ryncarz.

The ladies' comments have apparently left a few prospective clients running for the hills. And, Couloute claims that he is fighting for his professional reputation which was tarnished by his exes' comments, the New York Post reports.

Well, maybe the two exes should have expected at least some retribution. You mess with a lawyer, and you get sued.

But, will Couloute prevail?

Are the comments really tortiously interfering with his prospective business relations? I mean, who would believe the exes' comments anyway!

We all know that most attorneys are upstanding citizens who would never "lie" or "cheat." Lying and cheating would both totally be against the rules of professional conduct, and after taking the MPRE all attorneys are well-versed in ethics.

But, maybe Matthew Couloute has more of a reason to fight the comments besides just his professional reputation. He is also locked in a custody battle with Blitsch, who he has a son with, the New York Post reports.
