Notorious B.I.G.'s Autopsy Released After 15 Years

Notorious B.I.G.'s autopsy has finally been released to the public, 15 years after the rapper was killed.

The autopsy reveals several interesting facts: Biggie was shot four times, including a shot to his scrotum. All the bullets went through the door of the Chevy Suburban he was riding in, according to the report. And medical examiners who conducted the autopsy considered him "morbidly obese," reports Examiner.com.

The rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1997. His killing followed the murder of rival rapper Tupac Shakur.

Notorious B.I.G. was listed at 6-foot-1 and 395 pounds. While he was shot a total of four times, only one of the shots was fatal, reports Examiner.com.

The first gunshot struck Wallace in the left forearm and traveled down to his wrist. The second bullet struck him in the back, missing all of his vital organs, before exiting through his left shoulder. The third bullet struck him on the outer left thigh and exited through his inner left thigh, lacerating his scrotum, the autopsy states.

The fourth and fatal bullet entered his body through his right hip and travelled through several vital organs, before coming to rest in his left shoulder area, according to Examiner.com.

That fourth bullet reportedly perforated Wallace's colon, liver, heart, and the upper lobe of his left lung, causing fatal injuries.

In the autopsy report, the coroner found that Wallace, 24, was morbidly obese. He had no traces of drugs or alcohol in his system.

Notorious B.I.G.'s murder remains an "open investigation," police told the Associated Press. There are many theories floating around as to the motive of the killing, such as revenge for rival Tupac's death.

However, a lawyer for Wallace's family told the AP he believes the case has actually been solved, though police have not made any arrests. As California does not have a statute of limitations for murder, police can still apprehend Wallace's killer (or killers) in the future.
