N.C. Soldier, Wife Charged With Making Dog Porn

Shooting dog porn isn't on this North Carolina couple's criminal bucket list anymore. A soldier and his wife were arrested Monday after one spouse allegedly filmed the other having sex with a dog.

Ruben Chance James Fox and Amber Nicole Fox, both 23, were arrested by police in Raeford after cybercrime investigators in Virginia noticed the couple's alleged canine porn shoot had been posted online, The Fayetteville Observer reports.

Fortunately, the couple's dogs and cats have been relocated to a local shelter. But what will become of the alleged puppy porn publishers?

Lights... Camera... Illegal Action?

In this sordid tale of romance, a camera, and dogs, Amber was the alleged star and Ruben was her alleged director in crime. Raeford's police chief told The Huffington Post that Amber did "[a]nything" with dogs on film that "a man and a woman [do] to each other."

Regardless of how prudish North Carolinians may be about dog sex, under the state's crimes against nature law, sex with a dog is a Class I felony. If convicted, Amber could face four to six years in prison.

Her husband isn't out of the doghouse either. Not only is he charged with conspiracy to commit the illegal dog boinking, but he's also charged with the distribution of obscene materials.

The U.S. Supreme Court has had a tricky time defining what could be declared obscene, but most scholars would agree that interspecies fornication would be a prime example of obscenity.

Foxes in the Doghouse

Although the Foxes aren't first people in the country to get down and dirty with dogs, this may be one of the few (or first) cases in which an alleged perpetrator was a member of the U.S. Army.

The Associated Press confirmed that Ruben is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at nearby Fort Bragg, so he might be facing a court-martial; if convicted, he could face discharge in addition to a prison sentence.

His wife isn't in a much better position -- lets call it "prison-style" -- because if she's found guilty, she will likely be behind bars until at least 2017.
