NASCAR Streaker Left Wild Raccoon in Car with His Girlfriend
Race day spectators in Bristol, Tenn. were treated to an interesting view on Saturday when NASCAR streaker Joshua Greene, 23, took a naked spin across a crowded parking lot, leaving time for a short detour during which he shook his backside to music played by live band.
Shortly after the incident, police found Greene's girlfriend.
With a raccoon.
In a car.
Prior to apprehending the raccoon, police located Joshua Greene in a nearby neighborhood, arresting him for public intoxication and indecent exposure, reports MSNBC.
Police then returned him to the parking lot where they found his girlfriend and the raccoon in a car.
When asked about the animal, WCYB-TV reports that the pair explained to police that the girlfriend had rescued the raccoon from a nearby park, but had yet to make any plans for its housing.
Though no charges have been filed, the station reports that both the NASCAR streaker and his girlfriend may face prosecution by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
It's likely illegal under state law to be in possession of a raccoon, while removing an animal from its natural habitat could also violate state hunting and trapping laws, or other conservation regulations.
The same goes for most other states, as keeping a dangerous wild animal is generally frowned upon by the law.
Barring the addition of more serious charges resulting from the possession of a raccoon in a car, the NASCAR streaker is likely to commemorate the weekend with a court admonishment and a mediocre fine.
