Naked Fisherman Arrested in Wash. 'Wasn't a Pretty Sight'
There's nothing like fishing on a hot summer day: the sun in your hair, the feel of a cool lake breeze across your sweaty brow, the view of a naked man fishing... Okay, the last part isn't so pleasant, which might be why Dean H. Meginniss, the naked fisherman, was arrested over the weekend.
Meginniss was letting it all hang loose last Sunday afternoon at Medical Lake, Washington. He was spotted when a witness, who was accompanied by his kids, saw him stand up in his boat, exposing himself for the world to see, KREM-TV reports.
The kids likely got an eyeball-scarring view of Meginniss
Alerted of the presence of the naked fisherman, resort officials kindly told Meginniss to put on some clothes.
When police arrived, he was wearing a pair of shorts and was still fishing with his friend, who was fully clothed. After checking his name, officers then realized that Meginniss was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for stalking, reports KREM-TV.
They then promptly arrested the nude fishing aficionado on the outstanding warrant and for indecent exposure.
And, this incident isn't the first time that Meginniss has been a little too liberal with his own body. In 2009, Meginniss was convicted of indecent exposure in a separate case, which would make this offense a felony, according to KREM-TV.
Indecent exposure laws vary depending on the jurisdiction, but in most cases it's against the law for individuals show off their genitals in public. In some cases, indecent exposure can even rise to the level of sexual assault if any physical contact is made with an individual.
While Dean Meginniss' case doesn't seem to arise to the sexual assault-level, it is cause of concern. After all, this isn't his first time that the naked fisherman has been arrested for indecent exposure, which can only lead one to wonder why he was fishing naked in the first place. Did he get any sort of gratification out of it? Or, was he just really hot?
