Morrissey Groped at Airport, TSA Denies Unusual Treatment
Morrissey received some extra special attention from airport security when flying out of San Francisco this week. According to a post by fan site True to You, the lyrical legend claimed that an unncesseary TSA search rose to the level of sexual assault.
A spokesperson for the TSA denies that Morrissey's encounter was anything out of the ordinary.
The Pope of Mope Gets Groped
Morrissey is no stranger to physical affection by the public. His live performances are never complete until fans rush the stage for a hug. Apparently the TSA aren't worthy of the same lienency in terms of violating the Moz's personal space.
After passing through the usual airport security, including a standup scanner, Morrissey was appraoched by an airport security officer. By Morrissey's account to True to You, the officer crouched down and proceeded to grope him in the least appropriate places.
"Luckily," Morrissey says on the fan site, "I was accompanied by two members of the British Airways Special Services, who were horrified at the sexual attack and suggested that I lodge a complaint."
TSA Hides Behind the Secutiy Camera Defense
Looking into Morrissey's complaint, the TSA claims that the security officer followed standard operating procedure when screenining Morrissey. Closed circuit TV footage of the incident didn't reveal anything out of the ordinary.
A TSA spokesperson states that "TSA takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and strives to treat every passenger with dignity and respect."
Presumably the TSA does maintain high standards, but that doesn't necessarily mean that all employees comply with those standards. Only a few months ago, two TSA screeners were fired for carrying out a detailed scheme to systematically grope the most attractive people.
Whether or not Morrissey was sexually assaulted in the present instance, he certainly has grounds for concern when passing through the TSA, given that he is the sexiest man alive.
