Mom Helped Daugther, 13, 'Sext' Her Boyfriend
Would you want your mom to help you sext? Probably not. And even if you did, it's doubtful that your mom would even give you sexting help, right? Right. Which is why this story is so disturbing.
A 35-year-old Utah woman has been arrested for helping her 13-year-old daughter take nude photos with her cell phone. She allegedly did this knowing that the photos were to be sent to her daughter's older boyfriend.
That boyfriend is 30-years-old and lives in Oregon.
He's also the person who purchased the phone and asked the teen for nude photos, reports the Huffington Post. However, the teen couldn't figure out how to snap her own nudes, so she enlisted her mother. They took three photos.
In honor of her sexting help, the unnamed mother has been charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. In Utah, this basically means she's accused of producing, possessing or possessing with the intent to distribute child pornography.
Each photo is a separate offense.
Now, don't think that this couldn't happen to you -- even if you don't ask your mom to help you sext. If a person aged 18 years or older helps a minor take sexy nude photos, then he or she has produced child pornography. It's also possible that, in some situations, a person under 18 who offers sexting help will also be considered to have produced child pornography.
So for your own sake, keep the sexting -- and the sexting help -- between two consenting adults. And try to keep the moms out of it, too.
