'Mob Wives' Star Renee Graziano Sued by Her Plastic Surgeon for $77M

Renee Graziano has had some choice things to say about her plastic surgeon and now the 'Mob Wives' star is being slapped with a lawsuit.

The reality television star had a full body lift done in 2011 which was partially filmed for the VH1 show. During the second season Graziano bad-mouthed her plastic surgeon, Dr. Andrew Klapper, saying that he botched the procedure.

Klapper claims her nasty comments have cost him business so he's fighting back.

The suit against Graziano claims $77 million in damages for defamation, reports The Christian Post.

A claim of defamation is an allegation that the defendant made untrue statements that were published or otherwise disseminated to the public. Defamatory statements must cause actual harm for a plaintiff to win the case.

In some cases untrue statements are protected from civil liability because they are considered privileged. This applies, for example, to statements made on the witness stand.

It generally doesn't apply to comments made off the cuff on TV.

Graziano's statements about the allegedly botched surgery and criticism of Klapper's skills have caused him to lose business, according to the complaint.

He also argues that her statements that he killed a patient are untrue and unfair.

It is true that Klapper hasn't been found guilty of killing a patient. But he is currently a defendant in a trial for medical malpractice where a patient of his died, reports New York Daily News.

Klapper may not like what Graziano said but it's hard to feel too bad since he knew her comments would be on national television. Still, if she is lying about his services, she could have to pay up for the damage she's done.

Win or lose, the news isn't all bad for Renee Graziano. The lawsuit will probably create more buzz for 'Mob Wives.' After all, any press is good press.
