Michael Lohan Deposed in Jon Gosselin Lawsuit with TLC
Former buddy Michael Lohan reportedly told everything he knows to TLC about former reality television star Jon Gosselin (Jon and Kate Plus 8). The Jon Gosselin lawsuit centers around a possible breach of contract by Mr. Gosselin because of Jon Gosselin cheating on his wife Kate Gosselin.
Initially, TLC informed Gosselin that he was violating the morals clause of the his contract with TLC through his affairs, erratic behavior, and possible mismanagement of family finances.
According to MSNBC, Michael Lohan predicts that Mr. Gosselin will have a hard time winning the breach of contract lawsuit that TLC has against him. Mr. Lohan was deposed by TLC in their lawsuit against Mr. Gosselin. He told news outlets shortly after that deposition that TLC lawyers asked him everything about Mr. Gosselin.
He is quoted by MSNBC as saying, "They asked questions regarding my involvement on a business level with Jon Gosselin; deals that were negotiated; transactions that did occur and basically my deal with (his manager) Michael Heller."
It is interesting to note that Mr. Lohan leaked yet another telephone call that he taped between himself and Mr. Gosselin's attorney Michael Heller. Mr. Lohan came under fire before for leaking telephone calls between himself, his wife Dina Lohan, and even his infamous daughter Lindsay Lohan. We wrote about the phone call leaks here.
What is a deposition?
A deposition is a pretrial proceeding in which one party is questioned under oath by the opposing party's lawyer. A stenographer is present to record all statements and preserve the testimony. Depositions are used to collect information and facts about the case, narrow the issues to be proven at trial, and discredit (impeach) the testimony of the witness.
What Does Michael Lohan Think?
Mr. Lohan also said: "I think the attorneys from (TLC's legal team) Williams & Connolly were very thorough. I think they did a great job. They asked the appropriate questions and they got the answers they wanted. I think they have a very, very strong case, one that I definitely don't think they'll lose. So good luck to Jon."
Good luck indeed! With friends like Michael Lohan, who needs enemies?
