Man Posts Phony Craigslist Ad: 'Soccer Man Looking for Group Sex'

Connecticut man Philip Conran, 44, posted a Craigslist orgy ad. So wherein lays the problem?

Conran didn't post the ad for himself. Locked in a dispute with his next-door neighbor, Conran made her the target of the phony orgy.

The ad read: "40 [year-old] married West Hartford soccer mom... looking for group sex!"

Apparently, there's a big audience out there for orgies. The Craigslist ad sent about a dozen men to Conran's neighbor's house, according to The Hartford Courant.

The family targeted by the ad ended up having to shoo the men away.

What's probably most interesting tidbit is the range of men who responded to the orgy ad. Apparently, the men ranged from teenagers to an "80-year-old-guy who looked like Santa Claus," police said.

Most of the men who showed up were relatively harmless. But, one man, Richard Zeh accidentally went to the wrong house and ended up accidentally accosting an 18-year-old woman. Zeh pled guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault and first-degree criminal trespass in a separate case.

Maybe it's no surprise that the mastermind behind this prank ended up on the other side of a police investigation. And, after police determined that he was the one who placed the ad, Conran ended up confessing, The Courant reports.

Conran was sentenced to three years on probation.

And, since judges typically have discretion in setting probation terms, maybe the judge in Philip Conran's case should consider forbidding the Connecticut man from using Craigslist. Or, at the least, forbid him from posting more phony Craigslist orgy ads.
