Lower Risk of Suicide and Other Reasons Why You Should Drink Coffee

Our love for coffee at FindLaw runs deep. Some of us have been inspired to poetic heights for our love of the java. From haiku to odes, the ways we can express our love for coffee is limitless.

I am not much of a poet myself, but I am a top-notch list-maker. Thus, here are five reasons why you should drink coffee as much as we do at work, in court, on the road ...

1. Lower Risk of Suicide

Unfortunately, lawyers have a pretty high suicide rate when compared to the general population. But you might be able to can change that -- by drinking coffee. That's right, a new Harvard study (so it must be right) shows that coffee drinkers are at lower risk of committing suicide.

2. Temperature Control

Coffee is a wonderful way to regulate your temperature -- coffee is so versatile you can have it hot or cold. On cold, winter days there's nothing better than a warm mug of coffee. And, on hot summer days one of our favorite ways to cool off is with an iced coffee. So, if like ours, your office is arctic in the summer and tepid in the winter, drink up.

3. Tastes Great

The best reason to drink coffee is that it's simply delicious. The aroma, the flavor -- there's a reason why people drink it all over the world. And, whatever your personal preference, you can add so many flavors, and make so many different types of coffee, that it's impossible not to find one coffee drink that you can't resist.

4. More Filling

At FindLaw we advocate eating healthy meals. But, we also know the reality of practicing law and there are just days it's hard to fit a decent meal in. That's where coffee comes in. It's filling and will wake you up -- not a bad combination for hectic days

5. Feed Your Addiction

Ironically, lawyers are known to have addiction issues. And yes, coffee is addictive. If you have an addictive personality, amongst the many substances one could be addicted to, coffee is the most harmless. Skip the illegal substances, and reach for a cup of joe.

If these aren't great reasons to coffee, we don't know what are. Hope you are enjoying your coffee -- we know we are. Coffee lovers, any reasons we missed on why coffee is amazing? Tweet us @FindLawLP.
