Lindsay Lohan Arrested Over NYC Nightclub Assault
Lindsay Lohan has been arrested again. This time, LiLo was busted outside a Manhattan nightclub early Thursday after allegedly punching another woman.
The 26-year-old troubled actress was seen fleeing from the nightclub in a friend's car when police stopped her and slapped on handcuffs, reports the New York Daily News. The former "Mean Girl" was reportedly heard saying "Are you kidding me?" to police over and over again.
No, the police were not kidding as they hauled her off to the 10th Precinct stationhouse.
The victim of the alleged assault was 28-year-old Tiffany Eve Mitchell. Police say that Lohan and Mitchell were sitting in separate VIP sections at a Chelsea hotspot called Avenue when a fight involving other club-goers broke out, writes the Daily News.
Somehow the two women then exchanged words with each other before things seemed to settle down. But then Lohan allegedly got back up, walked over to Mitchell, and punched her in the face, reports the Daily News.
While Mitchell appeared to have been slightly bruised in the assault, she reportedly did not need medical attention and will not face any criminal charges.
Lohan will not get off so easily. She was charged with assault in the third degree and could possibly face time behind bars.
That may actually be good for the actress who has been in and out of rehab five times in recent years. During these past few months, the actress has been involved in a series of bizarre incidents, all following late nights out in the streets of Manhattan. She's been accused of hitting a pedestrian while driving, allegedly choking a congressional staffer over photographs, and getting into a late-night screaming match with her mother, reports the Daily News.
While not all of these allegations ended up leading to criminal charges (or were even true), Lohan did put herself in a position in which she could have gotten into trouble. For her latest arrest, Lohan has a court date set for January.
