Lil Boosie Smuggled 'Sizzurp' into Prison: What is Sizzurp?

Louisiana rapper Lil Boosie, indicted in June 2010 on charges of smuggling illegal substances into Dixon Correctional Institute, has been indicted yet again; but this time he's accused of conspiring to smuggle Sizzurp into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.

Currently serving time on drugs and weapons charges, and awaiting trial on charges of first degree murder, Lil Boosie may face more time behind bars as a result of these new allegations.

Born Torrence Hatch, the Associated Press reports that the new indictment stems from evidence that Lil Boosie instructed two men to mix codeine with soda and then bring it to the prison.

That's right, Sizzurp is a mixture of codeine cough syrup, flavored soda, and, on occasion, Jolly Rancher candy. If the codeine doesn't cause a person to pass out, it apparently leads to an intense state of relaxation.

But remember, codeine is a controlled substance, meaning that possession without a doctor's prescription is technically unlawful possession of drugs.

Unfortunately for Boosie, his plainly illegal Sizzurp mixture was intercepted by an undercover agent who then turned it over to prosecutors, reports Rolling Stone.

Though the grand jury has indicted Lil Boosie on charges of criminal conspiracy and inciting a felony, this doesn't mean that the rapper will necessarily be spending a few extra years behind bars.

If convicted, he'll likely serve any new sentence concurrently with the one he's currently serving, adding no more than few months to his prison stay.

However, the new Lil Boosie indictment will likely be count against him should the prison consider early release or the granting of any privileges.
