Kim Kardashian and Bret Lockett: Affair or Lie?
Reality star Kim Kardashian and Bret Lockett's affair - or alleged affair - might be taking a legal turn. The Kim Kardashian/Bret Lockett scandal erupted after a story broke in In Touch, a weekly gossip magazine, that the two had an affair.
Lockett is a NFL player for the New England Patriots. If the allegations of the affair of true, Kardashian would have been cheating on fiancé Kris Humphries, a basketball player for the New Jersey Nets, reports Reality TV World.
Kardashian has steadfastly denied the allegations of an affair - and in fact claims that she has never met him. But, Lockett is claiming that they did have a relationship - and a five-month relationship to boot. Who is to be believed?
Maybe Kardashian, considering she is already threatening legal action against Lockett and In Touch for publishing the story, reports gossip source TMZ.
But, Kardashian better be sure that there isn't any truth to the scandal - since truth is a defense in a defamation case. Statements made must be false in order for a defamation suit to be successful.
And, Lockett is saying that he has proof of their affair, which was a long distance relationship. Lockett claims to have evidence in the form of call logs showing when she would call him and racy text messages, reports the Daily Mail. Lockett even claims he has photographic proof.
As for the magazine, In Touch is defending itself by saying that their story was based on a series of text messages that a friend saw on Kardashian's phone, reports the Daily Mail.
So, who's telling the truth in the Kim Kardashian/Bret Lockett affair? It's unsure, but Kardashian's lawyers have sent In Touch a letter demanding they stop the Kim Kardashian/Bret Lockett scandal story, and have also threatened to take legal action against Lockett himself, reports Reality TV World.
