Kid N' Play Arrest: Christopher 'Kid' Reid Jailed on DUI Warrant

Fans of the 1980's, take a seat. There's been a Kid N' Play arrest.

His career may be long gone just like his funky, high hair, but word is that Christopher "Kid" Reid still hasn't figured out how to act like a normal person.

Or show up in court.

The House Party has-been is currently being held in a Los Angeles jail on an arrest warrant issued last month after he failed to show up to a court date for the second time in the last few months.

Arrested for driving under the influence in July 2010, celebrity gossip site TMZ reports that Kid was ordered to serve 3 years probation, attend an alcohol education program and 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, and pay a fine.

Twice he was supposed to appear in front of a judge to prove that he completed some of these requirements, and twice he failed to show up.

So, on July 25, TMZ reports that the judge issued a warrant for the 47-year-old's arrest, which just so happened to occur today.

Now he's chilling out in an L.A. jail waiting for someone to pay $26,000 to set him free.

And whether or not this happens, he's going to have to make an appearance in front of a judge, not only to determine the status of his probation, but likely to determine whether or not he violated his probation.

That's right--lucky to get off with probation and some counseling, Kid Reid may have just landed himself a prolonged stint in jail, as failing to show up for court-ordered hearings is considered a de facto probation violation.

So let the Kid N' Play arrest be a lesson to all the probationers (and future probationers) out there: being a flake can be a costly venture.
