For reality TV star Nicole Polizzi, better known as "Snooki," a police car crash has made headlines. After the crash, Snooki was in police custody - but it wasn't a formal arrest, according to celebrity gossip site TMZ.

Snooki was taking part in the filming of MTV's Jersey Shore in Florence when the incident occurred.

Snooki's police car crash seems to be a simple case of bad driving. In fact, the cops that she hit were actually part of the police escort assigned to the cast of Jersey Shore. Yes, we live in a day and age where the cast of Jersey Shore are important enough - and vital enough - to have an assigned police escort.

Apparently Snooki does need some driving lessons - or a refresher on when to stop a vehicle. She was driving with co-star Deena Cortese in the passenger side when the accident happened. Their car crashed into the back of the police car. The crash, though described as show creator SallyAnn Salsano as just a "fender bender," ended up with Snooki's Fiat wedged between the police car and the highway divider, according to The Star-Ledger.

Cortese had to climb through the car's window to get out, reports The Star-Ledger.

Snooki and Cortese were both unhurt, though the two cops in the police car were taken to the local hospital to treat minor injuries, according to The Star-Ledger.

So, could Snooki get into some legal trouble for their driving mishap? Maybe, but it seems unlikely. Reports are that Snooki's car was going slowly, according to the Daily Mail. In most cases, when a car accident happens, if someone is negligent in driving, such as going too fast or not paying attention, they can get into trouble with the law. If Snooki was driving slowly - and carefully - then she's probably not liable.

Seems like this season of Jersey Shore might be a real winner - Snooki's police car crash, Snooki in police custody, Ronnie and the Situation fighting. Quality television at its best!
