Jersey Shore's Snooki Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Snooki arrested? Yes, this time it was just a Snook too far. Nicole Polizzi, better known as Snooki, one of the breakout stars of the MTV reality show The Jersey Shore, was arrested for disorderly conduct this afternoon, July 30. Oh, how the mighty have fallen ... off their bikes at least. One report says Snooki could not even maintain her balance on a two-wheeler, which may have helped to catch the eye of the officers who did arrest her.

According to the New Jersey Star-Ledger, Snooki was arrested and taken into custody after becoming disruptive during the filming of an episode of The Shore. While "disruptive" and "filming Jersey Shore" may seem like synonyms, the police were sufficiently bothered by her interaction with an unsuspecting public to actually arrest her.

"She was being very disorderly on the beach, bothering other patrons there," Seaside Heights Borough Administrator John Camera said. At the time of this writing, Camera told the Star-Ledger that Polizzi, 22, was still at the police station being processed this afternoon and he wasn't sure what she would be charged with.

Most states have a type of disorderly conduct law that makes it a crime to be drunk in public, to "disturb the peace", or to loiter in certain areas. Even New Jersey. Many types of "obnoxious or unruly" conduct may fit the definition of disorderly conduct, and these laws are often used as "catch-all" crimes. Again, this behavior may just seem a bit redundant to those that love, or at least love to hate The Shore birds, including The Situation, Ms. J-Woww and of course, Snooki. These laws are sometimes a tool for police to put the brakes on certain disruptive behaviors that don't usually rise to the level of a serious threat to the public.

Administrator John Camera added that this was the first arrest connected with the show this summer. The summer ain't over yet.

The principes and principessas of The Shore live by the motto, GTL which, evidently stands for "Gym Tan, Laundry." Maybe one more letter would be helpful. GTLB: Gym, Tan, Laundry, Bail. Ms. Nicole Polizzi will no doubt be dried out, tanned up and back on the beach pronto. Stay tuned.
