Jeremy London Wanted for Assaulting Girlfriend

Police are looking for actor Jeremy London over allegations he assaulted his girlfriend in Pam Beach, California last Friday.

London formerly starred in family-friendly shows like 7th Heaven and Party of Five. He also starred in somewhat less family-friendly shows like Celebrity Rehab where he spent time dealing with his drug addiction.

Police say that London injured his girlfriend after an argument over child custody issues turned violent. She is said to have suffered minor injuries. London's representatives have denied the allegations, stating that no abuse occurred. They say that an investigation will show that the actor was not at fault.

Even if he isn't, it's probably best for London to turn himself in to police so the situation can get sorted out.

In California, domestic violence can be considered a felony. Specifically, individuals who inflict corporal injury resulting in a "traumatic condition" against a spouse, former spouse, cohabitant, former cohabitant, or mother or father of his or her child can be found guilty of a crime and may face jail time.

"Traumatic condition" in the statute is defined as an external or internal wound caused by physical force, whether it be minor or serious in nature.

So even if London's girlfriend only sustained cuts or bruises from the alleged attack, London could be found guilty under the statute.

This could mean the actor could face jail time and/or probation if his girlfriend's accusations are true. The statute imposes harsher sentences for repeat offenders of the law, but there is no indication that Jeremy London assaulted his girlfriend in the past or has had previous convictions of domestic violence.
