How do you get from Louisiana to Michigan? Jennifer Gille had a fresh new answer to that seemingly simple question. According to Ms. Gille, the best way to accomplish the trip is to hail a cab, while in the back seat take off every stitch of clothing and then demand to be driven the thousand plus mile trip. Funny when the driver refused. According to the Times-Picayune, Jennifer Gille, 29, hailed a cab in Covington, La. and asked to be taken to a destination south of that city. When she arrived, she refused to leave the cab and scared the pants off the driver by removing her own pants. Or dress. Or in any case, removing all of her clothing and demanding to be driven to Michigan. Where precisely in Michigan, the Times-Picayune does not report. When the driver tried to remove the now naked woman from his cab and could not, he drove straight to the Covington police station. Sadly, when he went inside for help, the wily Gille steals the cab and takes off for parts unknown. She only made it a block, the Times-Picayune reports. Officers found her, dressed her and attempted to ask something like "what gives?" Gille "appeared to be intoxicated" and wouldn't talk. She is now charged with obscenity and some intriguing violation of the Louisiana Criminal Code called "unauthorized use of a movable." Under Louisiana law, (Crim. Code Title 14, §68) it is prohibited to intentionally take a "movable" belonging to another without consent or by means of fraud. The law goes on to state that just because the movable "may be classified as an immovable ... is immaterial." The law is hard to understand, even when sober. Finally, according to CBS News, Ms. Gille was released from jail late on September 14 on a whopping bond of $75.00. Related Resources:
