Law Job in Boston: 1st Circuit Taking Applications for Staff Attorney
If you’re in the market for a law job in Boston, here’s some good news. You might be able to work at the First Circuit Court of Appeals. It’s time to fire up your resume and send it out ASAP.
The First Circuit Court of Appeals has announced a vacancy for Staff Attorney. But hurry up. This vacancy closes on March 19, 2012.
There are two vacancies, to be precise. And this is not a long-term gig. According to the job posting on the First Circuit Court's website, the position is for a six-month stint, starting in March or April and lasting until September 28, 2012.
While this doesn't look like an entry-level legal job, it is fairly junior. The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials (no big surprise there) and at least two years of post-law school legal experience. Preference is also given to candidates with a judicial clerkship or significant federal law experience.
The position appears to be based out of Boston and is with the Office of the Staff Attorneys.
Salary isn't too shabby, either. The starting salary range is $71,538 to $84,556. While this is probably less than you could make at a big firm, a federal job does have its perks and is a great resume booster, even if it's just for six months.
Applications are fairly standard. If you are interested in the position, you must send your resume, law school transcript, an unedited writing sample and references to the following address:
Senior Staff Attorney
Office of the Staff Attorneys
U.S. Courthouse, 1 Courthouse Way, Suite 5402
Boston, MA 02210.
