Here's one for your list of things not to do. A Houston woman stole another woman's purse and eventually her identity, and then went on quite the shopping trip. She even had the gall to go to Sam's Club and open up a membership using the stolen identification.

Of course, in the short term, the Sam's Club photo made it easy for her to fraudulently purchase items from the store. But in the long term, it gave the police a perfect photo to use to track her down.

Now Houston police are asking for your help to find the woman who had her photo taken at Sam's. She is described as a black woman, between 30 and 40 years of age, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-9, weighing between 160 and 170 pounds.

Identity theft is the crime of misusing another person's identifying information. Information used for identity theft is often acquired through the offender's unlawful access to information from government and financial entities, or lost or stolen mail, wallets and purses, identification, and credit or debit cards.

The Houston woman made off with over $2,000 worth of fraudulent purchases in addition to writing several bad checks at Target, Kohl's and HEB stores, Click2Houston.com reports. According to officials, if you have information on the case you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, visit www.crime-stoppers.org, or text message - "TIP610" plus your tip to CRIMES (274637). All tipsters may remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
