Grandma Gets 6 Months in Jail for Public Sex in Retirement Village
A Florida grandmother will be serving six months in jail after being caught doing the nasty in a retirement village's public pavilion.
Peggy Klemm, 68, soon to be the hottest cougar in Sumter County jail, accepted a plea deal in the face of indecent exposure and disorderly conduct charges filed after she was caught boinking at Lake Sumter Landing's Market Square (in a retirement town known as "The Villages.") Orlando's WKMG-TV reports that Klemm, a grandmother of 14, was tearful in court as she said "so long" to her husband of 50 years -- who was not the man she was caught having sex with.
So while the thought of sexagenarian sex may not be the most titillating, did Klemm really deserve jail time for public sex?
Peggy Shows Too Much Leg
The Florida grandmother was caught allegedly having sex with David Bobilya, 49, a man who is also serving a six month jail sentence for this public kanoodling. While Florida still considers adultery a second degree misdemeanor, Klemm wasn't charged under this somewhat archaic moral code.
Instead, she was charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. The latter deals with conduct that disturbs the peace generally, and Klemm and Bobilya's undulating parts in a public square may have been disturbing enough to qualify as criminal. But the more serious charge lies with the indecent exposure allegations.
In Florida, publicly displaying or exposing one's sex organs with lascivious, lewd, or vulgar intent is illegal. Showing parts where the sun don't shine in the Sunshine State may be punished by up to one year in jail, so Klemm may have been smart to take the six-month plea deal.
Strangely, Klemm's husband is behind her 100 percent. WKMG reports that Frank Klemm thinks his wife is "a super woman as far as I'm concerned" who deserves a second chance.
Maybe This Was Her 2nd Chance...
Judges typically don't toss grandmas in jail and throw away the key, even for public sex romps. But it turns out that this wasn't Klemm's first time before a judge in the last month. According to WKMG, the coquettish mother of four was given probation on a reckless driving charge not four days before being charged with indecent exposure.
Extending grants of probation is typically at a judge's discretion, and maybe Klemm used up her granny sympathy points the week prior.
