Grammy Awards Crasher Arrested, May Have to Pay for Prank
Did you notice how a random man walked on stage at the Grammys as Adele was set to receive her award?
Don't worry if you didn't. Most people didn't notice, either.
But Vitalii Sediuk, the Ukranian prankster, was arrested and spent the night behind bars for allegedly crashing the Grammys, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sediuk's 15 seconds of near-fame came when Jennifer Lopez presented the award for Best Pop Solo Performance to Adele.
For those who were paying close attention, you may have noticed a man in a tuxedo and black glasses approach the microphone and say "It's such an honor to receive this award," and "I love you, Adele."
Jennifer Lopez is then seen giving the man a disapproving look as he exits the stage. Cops later took him into custody, as he'd somehow sneaked into the event.
So just who is Vitalii Sediuk? It's not the first time this man has ticked off a Hollywood celebrity. You may recall, Sediuk was the guy who was slapped by Will Smith after he tried to kiss the actor in Moscow last year, HLN reports.
How on earth did a man who is person-non-grata among celebrities make it into the Grammys?
From reports, it looks like Sediuk just sauntered past security guards and onto the red carpet alongside Katy Perry. Once he got inside, he sat in the second row, behind Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. He apparently stole Adam Levine's seat, forcing the Maroon 5 frontman to sit on the floor.
The legal term for this sort of behavior is trespassing. In California, where the Grammys took place, trespass is most commonly filed as a misdemeanor. Under California law, Sediuk could face six months in county jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
You would think that with all the added security at this year's Grammys, it would have been impossible for Sediuk to sneak in. But then again, eyes were probably not on him; most of the extra security was in place to keep an eye out for the fugitive ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner.
As for alleged Grammy Awards crasher Vitalii Sediuk, his next cameo appearance likely won't come as a surprise. He'll probably be showing up in a Los Angeles County courtroom sometime soon.
