GoPro Appoints New General Counsel

Eve Saltman is the new general counsel at GoPro, and how cool is that?

Seriously, where else would you want to work than at a company that keys the coolest videos ever? Well, maybe a law job at the studio behind Star Wars, but still.

In the meantime, Saltman is flying high on her new gig. The company really wanted her, too.

No Newcomer

About six months earlier, Saltman was the deputy general counsel at GoPro. She had been there for years, helping the company go public in 2014.

She was also corporate secretary, and handled a broad range of tasks, including securities, compliance, intellectual property, human resources, disputes and product development. She won back-to-back awards for her labors in 2015 and 2016.

Maybe it was too much, or not enough, because she left in September 2017. After a tour as general counsel at software company Asana, however, she's back.

"It's incredibly gratifying to see one of our star performers return to the family," said GoPro CEO Nicholas Woodman. "We feel fortunate to be in a position to benefit once again from her remarkable talents."

Saltman oversees "all legal affairs at GoPro," the company said in a release. She will also serve as corporate secretary again.

Before GoPro, Saltman held in-house jobs at Autodesk, Siebel Systems, LiveOps and OnLive. After returning, she said her years at GoPro were her "most rewarding professional and personal experiences."

Unfortunately for other lawyers, that's one more cool job taken. So is the Star Wars job, but keep looking here.
