FL Woman Blames Her DUI on 'Being a Bridesmaid'
It's expensive to be a bridesmaid between the dress, the shoes, and the DUI charges. It's a toss up about which is more expensive but in most cases it's the criminal charge.
Lesley Falcone learned that one the hard way when she was pulled over on Friday night. The Florida woman allegedly told police "this is what I get for being a bridesmaid," after they stopped her for speeding and swerving.
Maybe being a bridesmaid can drive you to drink but it doesn't mean you have to get behind the wheel.
Falcone allegedly went to a bachelorette party on Friday night for a wedding she agreed to be in. On the way home she got stopped by police and asked to do some sobriety tests.
She did poorly on the first few tests but when she was asked to 'walk down the aisle' she flat out refused because she would 'look like a fool, reports The Smoking Gun. It was at that point that police arrested her.
Falcone hasn't officially pled guilty but she hasn't helped her case any.
While talking to police she 'spontaneously' admitted to having a few drinks, reports The Florida Sun Sentinel. She also made a post on Facebook a few hours before the incident saying she was about to go have some drinks.
The fact that Falcone failed the sobriety tests can be used against her in a DUI trial. So can her admissions which are even more incriminating. While she didn't have to make those statements, now that they're out there they can be used against her.
Falcone posted bond and was released from jail but she's still awaiting her hearing. For the next wedding-event she attends, let's hope she gets a cab home.
