FL Man Steals Parrot From Blind Woman in Computer Swap Gone Wrong

Floridian Mark Bausch is a man who steals parrots.

Well, to be more specific, Bausch is a man who trades his pet parrot for a computer and $50, according to WKMG-TV.

Then he steals a parrot (that used to be his).

So, what exactly happened to instigate a parrot-heist? Bausch had allegedly traded in his pet bird, a sun conure worth around $300, with a 64-year-old woman and her 81-year-old mother, WKMG-TV reports.

Apparently, Bausch missed the bird. That, and he complained that the computer ran too slowly.

He allegedly went to the women's house demanding the return of his bird, and when they refused he yanked open the screen door and pushed the 64-year-old woman, who is legally blind. He then took the bird and fled. The 64-year-old woman allegedly suffered from scratches as a result of the incident.

Maybe this should be a lesson in never trading in a pet, as you might miss your pet so much that you are compelled to steal it back.

Bausch was later arrested by police officers. The bird was returned to the woman, and Bausch was charged with home invasion robbery, grand theft and abuse of an elderly or disabled adult, The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports.

Charges of robbery usually arise when the perpetrator uses force or fear to take property away from another. Though the pet bird used to belong to Bausch, since he reportedly traded the bird away for the computer, it was no longer his.

And, because he used force to knock the blind woman down onto the floor and allegedly hurt her during the altercation to get the bird, it is considered a robbery.

Mark Bausch, our favorite man who steals parrots, should maybe take note of the end result of his actions. Not only did he not get to keep his parrot, but he also may be facing some jail time for his alleged crimes.
