Fiona Apple was arrested for drug possession in Sierra Blanca, Texas when her tour bus was stopped there on Wednesday.

The singer is currently on a national tour to promote her new album, 'The Idler Wheel' and was traveling between tour stops. While driving from Arizona to Texas police pulled her bus over for an inspection and found hashish.

Police quickly arrested Apple for possession and she's now enjoying the comforts of jail rather than her bus. Too bad she didn't learn from the mistakes of other artists.

The town of Sierra Blanca should be getting a reputation among musicians because it's caused problems for several singers in the past.

Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Armie Hammer have all been busted at that same spot.

The West Texas town is near the Mexican border and apparently has a policy of pulling cars over for inspection. Apple could have avoided this problem by picking a different route.

Then again she could also have fixed it by just not having drugs in her tour bus.

Hashish is a form of cannabis and thus is illegal just like all other forms of marijuana. Some states have decriminalized possession but the majority impose criminal penalties for having any form of marijuana or other illegal substance.

Penalties for drug possession generally depend on the amount you possess. The more there is, the more the potential punishment.

The singer has no previous arrests, reports the Huffington Post, so there's a chance the judge will go easy on her. But there will likely still be consequences for her actions.

Apple is schedule to perform Thursday night in Austin, Texas, according to her website. But it's unclear whether she'll make since she's currently being held Hudspeth County Jail.
