Ex-Cop Busted for Hidden-Camera Bathroom Videos on Porn Site

A Missouri police officer has been accused of recording hidden-camera bathroom videos of men pooping and then posting the videos on his porn site.

David Cerna, 33, who's been -- ahem -- relieved of duty since his arrest, will face a Clayton, Missouri, grand jury in July on invasion of privacy charges for his alleged hidden-camera bathroom antics, reports St. Louis' KTVI.

Cerna's alleged poop-filming enterprise was uncovered by KTVI's investigative reporter, who tipped off local police that someone was secretly filming men using the bathroom at a gas station in Chesterfield, Missouri. What police didn't suspect was that their investigation would lead to the arrest of then-officer Cerna.

But Cerna wasn't arrested in that gas station bathroom. He was picked up by Chesterfield police at his home, where he admitted to "luring about 50 men" for anonymous oral sex and secretly videotaping them, reports KTVI. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Cerna has admitted to posing as a woman on Craigslist to convince men to come to his home for sexual encounters which he then recorded.

The now-former cop was charged with two counts of second degree invasion of privacy, a felony in Missouri. Offenses under this law include:

  • Recording a person in full or partial nudity without their consent in a place where there is a reasonable expectation of privacy; or
  • Using a concealed camera to record through or under a person's clothes to see their undergarments or body without the person's consent.

The two counts -- one for the alleged bathroom recording and the other for the scores of guys recorded at Cerna's home -- seem to cover both parts of this Missouri law.

Grand Jury Could Add More Charges

Police likely had enough probable cause to arrest Cerna for the accused crimes, but he'll still be facing a grand jury in July. Grand juries act as investigators and factfinders, and after Cerna testifies, the grand jury may indict him for more than the initial two charges.

It's also possible that Cerna's testimony before the grand jury could lead to other arrests, including potential accomplices in Cerna's alleged hidden-camera porn site. Ironically, KTVI reports that the now-defunct website hosted a discussion about whether this conduct was legal. The response: "I'm not an attorney so I don't know."
