Dropkick Murphys' Tour Bus Kills Pedestrian in Texas

A tour bus carrying the Boston punk band Dropkick Murphys hit and killed a pedestrian in Texas on Sunday.

The band was on the way to Dallas when the incident occurred just north of Austin, reports The Boston Globe. Although authorities had initially suspected the death may have been a suicide, police are now investigating the death of 23-year-old Dalton Clark as an "accident fatality." The driver of the bus has not been cited

This is just the latest bus accident, and subsequent lawsuit, to make headlines this year.

Tracy Morgan Tour Bus Crash

Earlier this year, comedian and "30 Rock" star Tracy Morgan was seriously injured when his tour bus was involved in an accident with a Walmart truck on the New Jersey turnpike. Morgan suffered broken ribs, a broken leg, and broken nose, and other injuries in the crash, which claimed the life of comedian James McNair, also a passenger on the bus.

After Morgan filed suit against Walmart, the company denied liability for his injuries, instead claiming that Morgan's injuries were caused by his failure to wear a seatbelt.

High School Students Killed in Bus, FedEx Truck Collision

In May, a bus filled with Los Angeles high school students collided head-on with a FedEx truck on California's I-5 freeway, killing 10 and injuring 34. The accident occurred when a FedEx big-rig truck crossed the median, slamming into the bus and resulting in a fire.

In addition to filing suit against the estate of the truck driver (who was also killed in the crash) and FedEx under the theory of employer liability, a lawsuit filed in the wake of the accident by one of the students' families also named the bus company as a defendant. According to the suit, the emergency exit procedures on the bus were inadequate, making it difficult for passengers on the bus to escape from the fire following the crash.

After cancelling the band's show in Tulsa on Sunday night, Dropkick Murphys are expected to resume the band's current tour on Wednesday in Mexico City.
