Just because they enforce the law, doesn't mean they obey the law.

This is especially true of David Schubert, the Nevada prosecutor who handled the prosecutions of both Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars.

The revered member of a state and federal drug task force was busted this past weekend while purchasing crack.

David Schubert is well-known in the Las Vegas area for his handling of drug crimes--especially those involving celebrities. But it turns out that while he was prosecuting both Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars, he was spending his down time getting high.

According to the police report, Schubert had gone to a drug-ridden area of Vegas on Saturday night in his fancy BMW. Officers observed a male entering and exiting his car before heading into a nearby apartment building, reports TMZ. He eventually came back out.

Police followed Schubert, and when he committed a traffic violation, they pulled him over. He immediately swallowed a crack rock, details the Daily News.

Turns out David Schubert has been purchasing crack three to four times a week for the last seven months, TMZ reports.

David Schubert is obviously going to be prosecuted for possession of crack cocaine, but to what extent?

Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars both copped to their crimes in exchange for a probation-only sentence. Schubert brokered those deals, but other prosecutors might not be so easy on him. They're most likely furious with him and will want to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. That could spell jail time.
