Court Tells Frances Cobain: To Grandmother's House You Go

Courtney Love's daughter Frances Cobain will now have to live with her paternal grandmother Wendy 'O Connor and her paternal aunt Kimberly Dawn Cobain. Frances Bean Cobain is the daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love.   

Reuters reports that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge has granted temporary custody of the minor to the two legal guardians, but the reasons for the decision are not yet known for sure. There has certainly been some speculation, though.  

According to CNN, Geraldine Wyle, an attorney for O'Connor and Cobain, has verified that this information is true and that the order for temporary custody of Frances Cobain was a "private family matter."

This situation is not new for Frances Cobain. She was placed in the care of her grandmother back in 2003 when Courtney Love was arrested. She was accused for trying to break in to her ex's house, overdosed on painkillers and threatened to commit suicide. She was finally able to gain back custody of Frances Cobain two years later.

People reports that Courtney Love's attorney quashed any rumors of a potential drug relapse. He told People: "Courtney's been clean for years and is perfectly fine. This is simply about Frances preferring to live with her grandmother at this time."

It seems that Frances Cobain interview with Harper's Bazaar last year falls in line with this reason. She told the magazine how much she respected her grandmother: "She's probably the person I respect most out of anybody in the world."

The new legal guardians do not have control over Frances Cobain's trust.
