Conan O'Brien Stalker-Priest Arrested Again

So he's no longer a priest, but still a stalker?

The former priest accused of stalking late-night personality Conan O'Brien has shifted his sights a bit further down the celebrity food chain, but is still in legal trouble for his actions. Former priest David Ajemian, 49, allegedly violated the restraining order taken out against him by Anthony Everett, the anchor of a Boston nightly news show, Chronicle.

Ajemian was removed from his priestly duties after he allegedly began writing to O'Brien back in September 2006, reports the Boston Globe. He was arrested in 2007 after trying to get into the studio where O'Brien was taping Late Night even after being warned to stay away by NBC Security. Ajemian pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

In 2008, David Ajemian left the facility where he was being treated for mental illness against the advice of doctors. It was also against the orders of his boss, Cardinal Sean O'Malley. At some point, Ajemian switched his attentions over to Everett. Last week, after police found that the former priest had been calling Everett's station in violation of a court order, they took him into custody, the Globe reports.

Cohasset, Mass. police Lieutenant William Quigley told the Globe they felt Ajemian posed a serious threat when the former priest was arrested. The violation of a restraining order will often be cause for immediate arrest, as it was in this case. If Ajemian goes on to be charged with stalking, he could be facing up to five years in prison under Massachusetts stalking laws.

Everett, like many big(er)-time celebs, has issued a statement through a representative asking for privacy. WCVB president and general manager Bill Fine says Everett, "[W]ill have no further comment and would appreciate your understanding at this time."
