Celebrity Divorce Week: Kelsey Grammer Divorce Leads Pack
It was a helluva divorce week here on Celebrity Justice, with no less than three celebrity couples making headlines with news about their failed marriages.
The Camille and Kelsey Grammer divorce was finalized on Thursday, as an L.A. County Superior Court judge signed the final divorce decree. For those who don't follow the washed up actor and his Real Ex-Housewife of Beverly Hills, here's the deal: he convinced her to sign onto the Real Housewives franchise while he dabbled on Broadway, where Us Magazine reports he met his now-fiancé, 29.
She found out about the affair while on the show, telling the world about Kelsey's infidelity on the season one finale. There was no prenuptial agreement, notes Us Magazine, and a property settlement has yet to be reached.
Lesson: Don't cheat on your wife while she's filming a reality show; it's just as bad as Facebook evidence. Evidence of emotional distress might also cost you a lot in the final settlement.
Last Thursday was another good day, as another Charlie Sheen marriage met its end. Except the divorce isn't official until May 2nd. Under a prenuptial agreement, Brooke will receive $750,000, as well as $55,000 a month in child support, reports the AP. The Brooke and Charlie Sheen divorce agreement also gives physical custody to the actor's ex-wife, but he will have visitation time.
Lesson: Going to rehab won't change a judge's mind--you're still not considered responsible enough to have physical custody of your kids. Give it a few years.
The Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson divorce also hit, hopefully providing months (or years) of salacious details. Simpson filed for divorce from Wentz on Wednesday, citing irreconcilable differences. What are those irreconcilable differences? Perez Hilton, who reports that Pete really didn't want a divorce, thinks that Ashlee decided to ditch him because he's been acting a bit crazy in public. It is possible, since the Ashlee Simpson divorce papers also request physical custody of their son.
Lesson: Don't do crazy things in public. Not only will you end up divorced, but your ex-spouse will use any shenanigans to get custody of your children. Cell phone cameras are just as dangerous as the paparazzi.
