Casey Anthony is Off Probation

Casey Anthony is no longer on probation but that doesn't mean she's necessarily free.

During the investigation of the murder charge against her, prosecutors discovered that Anthony had participated in check fraud. She pled guilty to the offense and received a year's probation.

Even though she was acquitted of the charge that she killed her daughter, Anthony wasn't found innocent in the eyes of the public. At the time of the acquittal Anthony was the most hated American, according to the Chicago Tribune. Based on safety concerns, the judge allowed her to serve her probation at an undisclosed location.

Well folks, she's back.

Anthony's probation ended at 12:01 on Friday although the Florida Department of Corrections won't say the exact time of her release. Her attorney, Charles Greene, won't say where she's gone.

From here on out, Anthony will have to adjust to living in a country where people know her name, face, and personal history which could make a low-profile lifestyle difficult.

Not only that, she's not done with the legal system just yet.

No, it's not a criminal issue. Anthony's probation is done which means any criminal issues related to last year's trial are behind her.

She's still dealing with a civil case, reports ABC News. She was sued by Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez after Anthony used Fernandez-Gonzalez's name when she told police a babysitting stole her daughter Caylee.

Criminal and civil charges are separate and the same issue can be tried in both cases. The constitutional ban on double jeopardy prevents prosecutors from bringing criminal charges for the same offense more than once but that doesn't affect civil trials.

Even once the civil case is done it won't be over for Anthony. Her infamy will follow likely follow her wherever she goes.
