Bristol Palin Seeks Financial Info from Levi Johnston

His Playgirl magazine shoot, pistachio commercials and other media deals are among Levi Johnston's many moneymakers.

But exactly how much cash is the father to former Gov. Sarah Palin's grandchild raking in these days?

His ex-fiancé Bristol Palin wants to know and is seeking his financial info.

According to the Associated Press, her lawyer is seeking permission to subpoena media outlets to determine how much he has made in order to calculate an appropriate level of child support.

In general a subpoena is a formal document that orders a named individual to appear before a duly authorized body at a fixed time to give testimony.

In some cases a subpoena can also demand a person to bring certain evidence, usually documents or papers to file with the court.

Palin is seeking $1,688 a month in child support to cover the 13 months since the birth of their son, Tripp.

Attorney Thomas Van Flein filed who represents Bristol Palin said filing a motion was routine as he tries to determine Johnston's income.

Johnston, has posed nude for Playgirl for both online and print publications, also hopes to land acting jobs, the AP reports.

Van Flein filed to seek permission to conduct out-of-state depositions and obtain financial records from the magazine, CNN, Entertainment Tonight, Vanity Fair, the National Enquirer, Star magazine and Insider.

Johnston, 19, has paid $4,400 so far.

As previously discussed, Bristol is the custodial parent of Tripp and filed a temporary order for child support from her ex.

According to court documents Johnston said he made $101,000 last year and notes that he does not have a steady income from the entertainment field.

It could be a while before the judge decides on Bristol's request.

In the meantime her lawyer says he does not anticipate a legal battle with the media companies or any First Amendment issues with the request.
