Bad Idea: Taunting Cops on Facebook

It seems that every so often, some wanted criminal gets the brilliant idea to post on social media in response to law enforcement posting their Wild West style wanted poster.

And comically, so it seems, these wanted commenting criminals end up getting busted because of their comments on social media. It just recently happened again when a Pennsylvania woman taunted police in response to her wanted poster being posted on the police’s Facebook page. She asked, “Do you do pick up or delivery?”

Picked Up and Delivered, to Jail

The Pennsylvania woman, Chloe Jones, has now added her name to the illustrious list of individuals who have been hoisted by their own petard. And notably, she like others, probably thought that she would safe because she was out of state when making the online, social media comment. Jones even used a pseudonym. However, state and local law enforcement agencies routinely work together and will make arrests and allow other jurisdictions to extradite wanted individuals.

Sad Cops Get Behinds

Another individual was recently arrested for nearly the exact the same short-sightedness. Glenn Durham’s photo was posted on a local law enforcement’s Facebook page, and Durham commented (without even using a pseudonym, or spellchecker): 

“Yall are a sad law enforcement agengy when you are worried about someone who forgot to pay some measly fines and probation violation for not being compliant with drug rehab when the county has numerous unsolved murders get it together nelson now i see why they say if u want ti get away with murder come to nelson county get get your priorities straight!!!!!!”

Obviously, Durham was arrested, and sadly had to be treated for K-9 bites. The local sheriff commented that “this sad law enforcement agency arrested his behind.”

Spree, Flee, Then Taunt Cops on Social?

If you’re thinking that wanted suspects wouldn’t do something so shortsighted if they had someone to bounce ideas off, then you’d be wrong. A whole group of wanted burglary suspects were recently busted thanks to their social media taunting of law enforcement. The group of three women were busted several states over after posting on the local police’s social media telling the officers to “do ya job."

Unfortunately for the trio, the cops did, and the three are now facing criminal charges.
