Alec Baldwin Sued for Alleged Parking Spot Assault
"When you're a star, they let you do it -- hit 'em right in the face."
Wojciech Cieszkowski's lawsuit against Alec Baldwin certainly doesn't pull any punches, alluding in its first sentence to President Donald Trump's infamous quote about his alleged access to women. The suit, which details some of the hits of Baldwin's past misbehavior, claims Cieszkowski continues to suffer mental and emotional distress and is seeking compensatory and punitive damages along with attorneys fees.
Reliving a Painful Event
Baldwin, who was initially charged with attempted assault following the incident, eventually pleaded guilty to harassment and agreed to attend anger management counseling. Yet less than two weeks after admitting guilt, Baldwin went on "The Ellen Show" and claimed he thought Cieszkowski "was going to run my wife over with his car when he was stealing my parking spot."
"Mr. Cieszkowski is forced to frequently relive a physically and emotionally painful event in response to frequent questions about it," the lawsuit claims, and includes allegations of slander per se based on the "Ellen" comments to go along with assault and battery claims.
Goliath and David
"Like the man he plays on television, Alec Baldwin is an entitled celebrity with a long history of verbally and physically mistreating others he sees as beneath him," according to the suit. "It is also clear that Mr. Baldwin feels entitled to act abusively toward those he believes to be beneath him -- which seems to be pretty much everyone, including service workers, members of the media, police officers, and people who park on public streets."
Cieszkowski's lawsuit doesn't ask for a specific amount of damages, but says he had to be taken by ambulance to an emergency medical facility for observation and suffered from a very sore jaw after the assault, along with "headaches on and off for about three weeks," "sleepless nights and lost about 10 pounds." The marathoner also claims he stopped running for several weeks after the assault "[f]or the first time in 15 years."
