Actress Sean Young Arrested for Oscars After-Party Slap
Sean Young arrested. Why is this not surprising?
The Ace Ventura: Pet Detective actress has had a messy past. She was kicked out of an Oscars party in 2008, and battled alcoholism on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. She even wore a homemade Catwoman costume back in the 1980's.
Now, she's making headlines for allegedly slapping a security guard at the Governor's Ball. Los Angeles police have confirmed she was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor battery.
If the celebrity gossipmongers at TMZ are to believe, Sean Young was arrested just outside the party while snapping photos with her famous friends. When security found out she had no ticket, they asked her to leave. She did, only to return again. When she refused to leave a second time, a security guard tried to take her into a citizen's arrest.
She slapped him. And as her exit interview shows, she blames the Academy's lawyers:
On one hand, Sean Young is lucky there is no talk of trespassing. If the Academy's lawyers really did tell security to detain her, it's possible she was on private property. When security tells you to leave private property, you leave or face trespassing charges.
On the other hand, if she wasn't on private property, she may have a good case for self-defense. Wouldn't you slap someone who had no legal right to touch you?
We'll have to wait and see what prosecutors do with the case. But now that Sean Young has been arrested, maybe she'll go back to rehab. She did sound a bit off in the video above.
