For law students, Twitter may not seem like the best use of your limited time, but you might be surprised to learn that there is a thriving #LawTwitter community.

Legal issues and current events get discussed, shade gets thrown, and there are plenty of laughs to be had. What law students might not suspect, however, is that some of their own professors might be on Twitter, and law prof Twitter is rather spectacular.

Below are five law profs to follow on Twitter.

1. Laurence Tribe @tribelaw

A longtime professor at Harvard, Laurence Tribe doesn't shy away from sharing his insights, thoughts and opinions on a wide variety of topics.

2. Nancy Leong @nancyleong

One amazing thing about following professors on Twitter: You get to see that they're real people too. Take Nancy Leong's recent Tweet about a hilarious auto-correct incident:

3. Nicholas Bagley @nicholas_bagley

Like many other law profs on the Twitter, University of Michigan Law's prof Bagley likes to assign his followers "light reading."

4. Kat Macfarlane @KatAMacfarlane

She's a law prof and Tweets stuff like this:

And presumably runs her dog's Twitter account too:

5. Lawrence Lessig @Lessig

Another Harvard Law prof on Twitter, but unlike the other Laurence, this one's got a great sense of humor on display:
